Christina’s, 320 St. Charles St., Baton Rouge LA
It’s not Meet the Press, and it’s not even Face the City, but it's a great conversation over a cup of coffee between local PR pros and media folks.
In August, seven PRSA members were joined by Capitol Bureau reporters from the AP and The Times-Picayune, Melinda Deslatte and Jan Moller. The group discusses politics, current events and communication blunders, with the presence of reporters adding a new perspective to the conversations and providing insights into the reporters’ worldviews.
Termed Coffee PRess to reflect the informal nature of the gatherings, our local PRSA chapter will continue these discussions on a monthly basis. Lanny Keller and Linda Lightfoot, both with The Advocate, have already agreed to join the group in September. There is no set agenda, so there is no telling where the conversation will begin and end, but it will always be interesting.
Although seating is limited to these inform get-togethers, we invite all PRSA members for a cup of coffee. If you plan on joining us, please let us know in advance by using the online registration at www.SignUpGenius.com/go/coffee8.
This way, we can make the appropriate accommodations for the size of the group. There is no cost to participate; all that we ask is that all attendees buy their own coffee. Space limited to the first 12 attendees to register.
